About the house
SAUNA HOUSE Yutagawa is a two-story house in Yutagawa Onsen, Tsuruoka City, Yamagata Prefecture. You rent the entire house, so you will not share any space with other guests.
Behind the house is a private wooden barrel sauna. Inside, there is a living room with a projector (Netflix), a library room full of Japanese manga, a full kitchen, and a washer and dryer. It is a good fit for families, couples and small groups of sauna lovers.

What you can do
Private barrel sauna
Only one group stays per day, so the sauna is all yours. Please wear a swimsuit. We ask guests to finish by around 10 pm.
Walk to a real hot spring
Shomen-yu, a public bath with free-flowing hot spring water, is a 4-minute walk. Register at Funami Shoten nearby and they will unlock it for you. The Shirasagi-no-yu foot bath is also 4 minutes away.
Manga room and projector
Rainy day? Stay in with the manga library and watch Netflix or movies on the big projector screen.
Cook with local Shonai food
Fridge, microwave, kettle and cookware are provided. A supermarket is about 10 minutes by car in central Tsuruoka. Washer and dryer make longer stays easy.
